Equal rights. Are we happy with where we are?

Lately I have been thinking about what it means to be a woman and what are roles as women are. For quite some time we have been fighting for equal rights so that we can have everything that a man has. By doing so, I think we have done a disservice to ourselves. I would like to think we are better than that. I still love it when a door gets opened for me or if the men in the room actually change their conversation because I am in the room. It shows a level of respect that I think we might have lost over the years. One thing that I will always remember about my mother was that she was such a lady. Frankly, I don't really want to be equal to the men. I want to be more than that and to be treated as such. In our quest for equal rights, I am afraid that we may have lost something very precious. I know that as women we can really do anything we put our minds to, but I want my girls to know that we are also so much more.
